For five decades, NABPAC has been a trusted advocate, protected our industry's interests and empowered the voices that inform, entertain and connect communities nationwide. This overview honors that legacy, celebrates those who've helped us get here and hopefully inspires those who will carry the torch forward.
There's a simple reason I've been a NABPAC supporter and Trustee for 50 years – broadcasters large and small desperately need it for their individual success – more and more with each passing year.
–Patsy Smullin, president, California Oregon Broadcasting Inc.
It was always my experience on the Hill and at NAB that, helping one's friends, was the essential ingredient to successful advocacy.
–Sen. Gordon Smith
NABPAC's bipartisan support runs deep. As our fundraising grows, so does our support to pro-broadcast lawmakers. Our thanks to over 2,772 donors since our founding!

NAB's Government Relations team includes seven bipartisan professionals with strong, personal relationships with lawmakers overseeing the broadcast industry. Those relationships, reinforced through ongoing education of members of Congress about the challenges facing broadcasters, position NAB to effectively advocate for the industry. NABPAC further strengthens that effort by helping elect candidates who support NAB's policy objectives.
The key to successful advocacy in Washington, DC is being strategic. I am so grateful to work at NAB where we approach our advocacy on Capitol Hill in a thoughtful bipartisan and bicameral fashion where we cultivate relationships and help produce broadcast champions.
–Charlyn Stanberry, vice president, Government Relations
The best part about working at NAB is that we get to advocate for the indispensable work that local broadcasters do in every community across the country. The issues that impact local broadcasters are inherently bipartisan, and Members of Congress know how important our stations are to their constituents. NAB is successful in our advocacy on Capitol Hill because of the partnership between us and the stations we represent everyday.
–Jack Smedile, senior vice president, Government Relations
NABPAC remains a powerful advocate, consistently engaging with members of Congress to push for policies that protect and strengthen the broadcasting industry.

NABPAC supported 200 campaigns through $1,163,263 in donations in 2025. Our impact relies on the support we receive from individual broadcasters.
The first 50 years were built by leaders who showed up; the next 50 depend on you.
Although I've never been in broadcasting, it's been an integral part of my life for nearly as long as I can remember. Now, more than ever, local broadcasters need advocates. Our family is committed to supporting journalism and serving the local community. We are delighted to contribute to the effort and proud to honor GramE, Elizabeth Murphy Burns, as first-time donors. We are also happy to share that all of Liz's grandchildren are now becoming the next generation to champion the broadcast industry.
